
About Lynne

Lynne Santy Tanner was born in New York City where she attended The Chapin School. It was there her love of painting began. She learned to create her own illuminated miniatures and manuscripts. The influence of this work still can be seen in her paintings.
Lynne graduated from Hollins College, Virginia, with a BA in biology and a minor in dance, and served as choreographer for the Rutherford County Arts Council, North Carolina for fifty years.
She has painted professionally for forty years. Her paintings and drawing have been exhibited in galleries including The Smithy Pioneer Gallery in Cooperstown, New York, the Art Museum of Spartanburg, South Carolina, the Weatherspoon Art Museum and the Green Hill Center for the North Carolina Arts in Greensboro, North Carolina, and most recently in the 9th Annual Juried Exhibition of the Spartanburg County Public Library. Lynne lives and works in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
